Preparing your home for Market

Looking to sell your home on Maui? Make a good first, and lasting, impression on your prospective buyers by making your Maui home look it's best.

How? Here's a few tips:

Clean, clean, clean! Tidy your home as best you can, inside and out. Store away unneeded clutter, manicure the lawn, wipe away built up dust; create an atmosphere your prospective buyers won't want to leave.

Let the light shine in - Put that great Maui sunshine to good use; open your curtains and blinds and show your prospective buyers not only the oceanview from your Maui home, but also all he gorgeous space with which to enjoy it from.

While we're on the topic of oceanview Maui real estate, do what you can to show off those great Upcountry bi-coastal views, ocean views from South Maui, or West Maui mountain views by removing any unsightly obstructions, clean up that tree line and tidy the shrubs. Everyone loves a great view.

Take the time to fix the tiny things - Prospective Maui home buyers will remember the small things - sticking cabinetry, leaky faucets, even missing light bulbs. Tiny details can make a big impression.

Dress up you Home - Like your car, a good detailing can really make your Maui Home shine; clean the windows, tiles, faucets, and other shiny bits. Freshen the air around your home with matching scents; ocean breezes for your West Maui Beachfront home, fresh baked goods in your Upcountry cottage, or a flowery hint of lavender wafting throughout your Central Maui house to make your prospective buyers feel "right at home"

If your home for sale is occupied, try to keep the number of occupants during a showing to a minimum. Less people equals more comfort for many prospective buyers. If you are present during a showing, be courteous, but let your Maui real estate sales professional do most of the talking. Their business is to represent your house to the people they know best: your buyers.

Short on time to detail your home? Look into a "Home Staging" - Professional home stagers will come in and make your home look its best for your prospective buyers.

Taking these simple bits of advice into account can help your Maui home sell quickly, and for the price you want.
