"The Boo Boo Zoo"

Every Monday from 9AM to noon, the East Maui Animal Refuge, also known as the Boo Boo Zoo, has volunteer orientations for those who would like to help take care of the many animals that are rescued by this no-kill, non-profit shelter. The refuge takes in animals that are ill, injured, orphaned, or sick, and could not otherwise survive in the wild, giving them a second chance at the good life they deserve.

The shelter is run by Sylvan and Suzie Schwab, who have made it their life's work to care for these unfortunate animals. The shelter is also licensed on both state and federal levels by the Fish and Wildlife department to rehabilitate animals, including threatened or endangered species. Supporters of this noble work are encouraged to contribute if possible.
