Focus Green with Jeff Corwin on Maui

The Focus Green lecture series at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center will feature Jeff Corwin on February 5th. Jeff Corwin, for those of you who may not have heard of him, is the Emmy Award winning producer, host and creator of Animal Planet's The Jeff Corwin Experience and Corwin's Quest. For anyone familiar with the conservation based work he does, this is very exciting.

Corwin is much enjoyed by nature enthusiasts for his entertaining shows which are a favorite of adults and children alike. He travels the world, exploring the various exciting species that can be found in areas of ecological interest. He educates viewers on endangered species and the conservation of delicate ecosystems such as ours here on Maui. What sets Corwin apart from other nature show hosts is his personability with his audience, and most importantly, his lively sense of humor.

His shows on Animal Planet routinely reach over 13 million viewers in the US alone, and are aired in 70 other countries. Corwin is widely recognized as a prominent environmental speaker, which was especially evident in the 2007 CNN documentary called Planet in Peril in which he starred. He also hosted two critically-acclaimed series on the Travel Channel: Into America's West and Into Alaska. Possibly the most impressive demonstration of his formidable influence would be his address to the United Nations General Assembly.

Dowling Company Inc., a leading developer known for its green building practices, is presenting the Focus Green lecture series. There is a $5 entry fee but students with a valid ID get in for free.
