Heart Walk and Health Fair Maui

Join the Heart Walk and help the American Heart Association raise $110,000 for the battle against heart disease. The walk will be held in Keopuolani Park on March 28th. If you decide to join this fight, know that the life you help save might be your own.
One in three Americans suffer from at least one kind of Cardiovascular Disease. You may have struggled with such health problems yourself or known another who has. Such a high percentage of afflictions should not be surprising, considering the large quantities of rich and unhealthy foods that surround most Americans every day. If those of ethnic European descent are suffering, just know that our lifestyle and diet has hit Pacific Islanders, including Hawaiians, even harder. A staggering 22.4% of Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders suffer from high blood pressure.
This is a great opportunity to make a dent in the problem. The purpose of the Heart Walk is not just to raise money for the cause, but to raise health awareness in its participants and in the community. Have a look at the event's website for more information.
In other news, a full service clinic recently opened in Kihei, which has been much anticipated by Maui residents. It is located on the second floor of the ABC Shopping Center at 2349 South Kihei Rd. Maui Medical Group has 55 doctors total, and clinics in Wailuku, Lahaina and Pukalani as well.
On the real estate front, you may want to have a look at Spreckelsville homes and perhaps some of the many beautiful parcels of vacant land in Haiku. As always, if you need any real estate assistance, please email us at info@jimsandersrealty.com or call (808) 579-8255. Mahalo for reading and have a great weekend!
