Piiholo Ranch Paniolo Day
Twenty-two Maui plein air painters will be up at the beautiful Piiholo Ranch on Saturday the 18th this month. This event is open to the public and free. What better place to observe the scenic artwork of some of Maui's premier painters?
This is a gorgeous upcountry ranch nestled in among majestic eucalyptus and graced with the cool breezes of Olinda. The green pastures surrounding the area are breathtaking, the horses are lovely, and the Paniolo culture is rich at Piiholo Ranch. The area also boasts Nene goose habitat, panoramic views, waterfalls, the pools of Kalena, the Waikamoi Rain Forest and the 800 acres of the ranch itself.
Hawaii's longest Zipline can be seen nearby while you watch the painters do their awe-inspiring work. There's nothing like having intrepid zipliners whizzing by overhead while you take in the exhilerating scenes of the area. This place is an excellent choice for plein air painting. If you want to come by, the art session will last from 9a.m. to 3p.m.
If you feel a strong draw to the Makawao area, which lies below Piiholo Ranch, then you may want to consider browsing through listings of Makawao homes for sale.
If upcountry is your style and you like cooler air, more space and a high elevation, it is recommended that you look at Kula homes for sale at this time. You will find a great selection and a wide range of listing prices.
