Jim Sanders Receives Mayor's Non-Profit Angel Award

The Mayor's Small Business Awards were held at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa last Friday to celebrate the accomplishments of six small Maui business operators.
These awards wound up holding a special significance for us as Jim Sanders of Jim Sanders Realty received the non-profit angel award for raising over $90,000 for A Keiki's Dream since 2004. Jim has also been recognized as a very loyal and generous supporter of the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
This achievement should really stand out for those who want to work with a real estate agency that truly loves, understands and involves itself in the Maui community.
Much appreciation goes to the other award-winners of the night, including Robert "Bob" King of Pacific Biodiesel Inc. who received the lifetime achievement award. David Fisher received the community service award for providing advice through the Hawaii Small Business Development Center since 1990. James "Kimo" Falconer won the small business category (with 10 or fewer employees) for MauiGrown Coffee. Pacific Defense Solutions won for the small business category with 11-50 employees. Last, but not least, Garret Marreo of the Maui Brewing Co. won the award for young business person of the year.
All the winners accomplished extraordinary things, and recognition is well appreciated by the recipients. The Mayor's Small Business Awards began in 2004 for the purpose of that recognition. A big thank-you goes out to the Central Pacific Bank, among others, for sponsoring the event.
