Good News on the Maui Economy

Here's a little tidbit about Maui's economy that even local residents may not be aware of. As reported on Forbes.com, Hawaii is among the top twenty places in the U.S. for women's salaries!

For women who work full time in Hawaii, their median weekly earnings come to $652, according to the July 2009 data that Forbes pulled from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Washington, D.C. took first place for women with high earning salaries where the median was $866 per week. Maryland came in next at $744 where they made 83.6 percent of what men earned (which is high).

Connecticut, Massachusetts and California were also on the list. Mississippi scored lowest with a median weekly income of $356 for women.
